Project Description

At EMS GmbH, I managed the end-to-end development of embedded systems for premium automotive brands, including BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce. In this role, I operated at the intersection of engineering, product, design, quality, and production—ensuring that complex technical solutions aligned with both business objectives and end-user expectations.

I was responsible for overseeing a portfolio of 20+ projects, coordinating cross-functional teams across multiple countries, and driving delivery from initial requirements through to production. This included defining product specifications, prioritizing features, managing timelines, and ensuring alignment between stakeholders such as OEM clients, engineering teams, and quality assurance.

Beyond execution, I introduced more structured product and project management practices, improving transparency, communication, and decision-making across teams. By implementing clearer workflows and tracking mechanisms, I was able to create a more predictable and scalable delivery environment, even within highly complex and regulated systems.

Problem solved:

The primary challenge was managing the complexity of delivering high-quality embedded systems within tight timelines and across distributed, cross-functional teams. Projects often involved multiple dependencies, evolving requirements, and strict safety and performance standards typical of the automotive industry.

To address this, I focused on improving coordination, visibility, and issue resolution across the product lifecycle. This included streamlining communication between teams, introducing more structured tracking of progress and defects, and ensuring that priorities were clearly aligned with both customer requirements and technical feasibility.

By bringing a more product-oriented perspective into a traditionally engineering-driven environment, I helped ensure that development efforts remained focused on delivering reliable, high-impact solutions while minimizing delays and inefficiencies.

In addition, stronger alignment across international teams improved collaboration and reduced friction in day-to-day operations, enabling smoother project execution at scale.

This project demonstrates the ability to apply product management principles in highly technical environments, balancing complexity, quality, and delivery performance—while aligning diverse stakeholders around a shared outcome.
